We hope that you and your families are staying safe and healthy. Listed below are some updates and news of how we plan to open the Spring 2021 Semester. We are committed to following the guidelines of SIU, the State of Illinois and the CDC.

Shabbos

Shabbos is a mainstay of keeping our community together. Shabbos dinners will be taking place with social distancing in place. Therefore

  • RSVP will be required for attendance at the meals
  • Masks are required when not eating
  • We'll be placing everyone 6 feet apart in our ample basement-turned-dining-room

Jewish Holidays & Events

The Spring semester includes a number of Holidays:

Tu B'Shvat- New Year for the Trees

Purim

Passover

Lag Ba'Omer

We're planning appropriate celebrations for all of these, as well as other social and learning opportunities.

Communication

In order to stay in the loop of all the happenings at Chabad of SIU this semester, whether you are in town or attending SIU virtually, we ask all students to fill out this form. This will enable us to organize packages to be sent in the mail or dropped off at your dorm.
