We hope that you and your families are staying safe and healthy. Listed below are some updates and news of how we plan to open the Fall 2020 Semester. We are committed to following the guidelines of SIU, the State of Illinois and the CDC.

Welcome Week

We are eager to welcome you back to campus and will be delighted to see you. When possible, we will arrange for outdoor Open House events for students and parents. Make sure you arrange a pick up (you by us) or drop off (us by you) time to receive your Welcome Package!

Shabbos is a mainstay of keeping our community together. Shabbos dinners will be taking place with social distancing in place. Therefore

  •  RSVP will be required for attendance at the meals
  • Homecooked Shabbos-to-go packages will be available for you to eat in your apartment/dorm

High Holidays

We are planning many options to serve the needs of our community during the High Holidays. we understand that the current situation means different levels of comfort and safety to each of us, so there will be a range of options that you'll be able to choose from.

Some of our tentative options include:

  •  Providing Rosh Hashana DIY kits, with a dinner, Rabbi's message and selected prayers, so you can celebrate in your own dorm
  • Combining a Shofar blowing service/ Tashlich gathering outdoors, maintaining social distancing
  • Attendance of services in our shul, advance RSVP required so we can provide adequate space

Learning Opportunities

We will be offering a wide array of classes in small groups and one-on-one, both in person and through Zoom
