Chabad of SIU provides many religious, educational, and social programs for Jewish students at SIU. Events are held at the SIU Student Center or hosted at private homes in Carbondale.

Mezuza Bank

Chabad provides Mezuzahs on loan to students for their apartments or dorm rooms.

Students are encouraged to give from their time to help others in need.

Social Events

Jewish students can get together at various social events throughout the semester like challah baking, barbecues, and Shabbatons.

Join various classes with Chabad: Pizza and Parsha, JLI series, learn to read Hebrew, or pick your own topic with a one-on-one with the Rabbi.

Students can celebrate the holidays together. Shofar services on Campus, Sukkah at Faner, Public Menorah lighting in the Student Center, and Pesach Seder.

Home away from Home

At Chabad we strive to be a welcoming Jewish oasis in the midst of a college experience. The Rabbi's home is always open for a Shabbos dinner, a bowl of chicken soup, or just to play with the kids.
